But the best way to make sure you don’t miss anything is to join the FES PTO by coming to a PTO meeting.

How can I best help the PTO if I don’t have a lot of time?

The FES PTO is understanding that time is not something most parents have a lot of! We have several ways you can help:

Take this Survey to be added to our volunteer database. It asks about your availability and interests so that we know the best tasks to contact you about.

We will often post requests for items using Sign-Up Genius. Non-perishable items can be shipped directly to the school, but please include in the shipping address who or what it is for so that the office staff knows who to contact about deliveries.

Support us in the ways you do have the time. Come to our events, participate in fundraisers, and consider joining the PTO. There are ways to volunteer from home, and tasks that work around your schedule.

Is there a way to just donate money?

The Forest Edge PTO runs fundraisers to raise money, but there are also ways to donate money directly to the PTO. We have a PayPal, Square, and checks can be sent or dropped off at the school.

Can my order be sent home in my student’s backpack?

So long as the order is not too large for their backpack, you can put in your order notes that you would prefer this option. We do need both your student’s name and their teacher’s name on your order notes to complete this request.

Where do I drop donation items off?

This depends on the item! If it’s for the PTO and small enough to fit in a mailbox, you can drop it off in our mailbox by going through the office, or at the front desk. If it is for the teachers, you can take it to the teacher’s lounge, also accessed through the office. If it is for a donation event, we will typically place bags or boxes in the front vestibule for you to put your donations in. You can also ship them to the school or send them with your student to drop off.

What about picking up orders if they’re too large for a backpack?

The Forest Edge PTO will usually set up pick-up events for sales that result in larger or perishable items like our plant and cheese sales. The pick-up is weather dependent but is usually either in the front courtyard or front vestibule, and offered during student pick-up time after school and then arranging times for the orders that are left. Orders can usually be picked up as early as before school the following day, but other arrangements may be made depending on schedules.

Where is my money going when I buy something or donate to the PTO?
